Abyssinian Oil

Abyssinian oil is a uniquely structured plant oil derived from the seeds of Crambe abyssinica, a hardy oilseed crop native to the Ethiopian highlands and now sustainably grown in Canada. It is cold-pressed to preserve its natural composition, ensuring maximum potency and purity.

This lightweight, fast-absorbing oil is exceptionally rich in erucic acid (a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid), which helps reinforce the skin’s lipid barrier and enhance hydration retention without leaving a greasy residue. Abyssinian oil is known for improving skin smoothness, elasticity, and softness, making it beneficial for dry, sensitive, or barrier-impaired skin.

It also contains natural tocopherols (vitamin E compounds) that provide antioxidant support, helping to protect the skin against environmental aggressors and oxidative stress. Non-comedogenic and well-tolerated, it is suitable for a wide range of skin types, including acne-prone and reactive skin.

Golden Jojoba Oil

Golden jojoba oil is not actually an oil, but a wax ester, extracted from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis, a resilient shrub cultivated in the arid climates of Israel. It is cold-pressed and unrefined, preserving its naturally rich composition and golden hue.

Structurally similar to the skin’s own sebum, jojoba helps balance oil production, restore barrier function, and maintain optimal hydration levels. Its unique profile of wax esters, tocopherols (vitamin E), and antioxidants allows it to protect the skin from transepidermal water loss and oxidative damage.

Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, anti-inflammatory, and highly compatible with sensitive, acne-prone, or compromised skin. Its ability to soothe irritation, support wound healing, and enhance skin elasticity makes it a versatile ingredient for barrier repair and daily maintenance.

Black Currant Seed Oil

Black currant seed oil is extracted via cold-pressing the seeds of Ribes nigrum, a nutrient-dense berry native to parts of Europe and northern Asia. This oil is prized for its rare balance of essential fatty acids and its ability to support skin barrier repair and inflammation reduction.

It is a rich source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)—two omega fatty acids known to improve skin elasticity, reduce transepidermal water loss, and calm irritated or inflamed skin. GLA, in particular, helps regulate inflammatory processes in the skin and has been shown to benefit conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and barrier dysfunction.

Black currant seed oil also contains stearidonic acid, an anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acid that supports cellular repair and regeneration. Its high antioxidant content, including vitamin E and polyphenols, helps neutralize oxidative stress and reinforce the skin’s natural defenses.

Non-comedogenic and well-absorbed, this oil is ideal for dry, sensitive, or inflamed skin types in need of replenishment and repair.

Broccoli Seed Oil

Broccoli seed oil is obtained by cold-pressing the tiny seeds of Brassica oleracea italica, the same plant species as the vegetable broccoli. This lightweight oil is rich in bioactive compounds that support skin hydration, elasticity, and protection.

Exceptionally high in erucic acid (a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid), broccoli seed oil creates a breathable, protective barrier that locks in moisture and imparts a smooth, silky feel—making it a natural alternative to silicones in skincare. It also contains linoleic acid (omega-6), which helps restore the skin barrier and prevent water loss, especially in dry or damaged skin.

Broccoli seed oil is naturally rich in vitamin A (in the form of carotenoids) and vitamin K, supporting skin regeneration and tone, as well as sulforaphane, a powerful antioxidant compound that helps protect against environmental stress and UV-induced damage.

Fast-absorbing, non-comedogenic, and well-suited for all skin types, broccoli seed oil is particularly beneficial for dull, dry, or aging skin in need of nourishment, repair, and a natural glow.

Gotu Kola (Centella Asiatica)

Gotu Kola, also known as Centella asiatica, is a revered medicinal herb used in both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In modern skincare, it is highly regarded for its ability to support skin repair, boost collagen synthesis, and strengthen the skin barrier.

Rich in active compounds such as asiaticoside, madecassoside, and asiatic acid, Gotu Kola helps stimulate fibroblast activity, promoting collagen and elastin production—key for maintaining skin firmness, elasticity, and wound healing. It has also been shown to accelerate tissue regeneration and improve recovery in compromised or sensitive skin.

Gotu Kola possesses strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it effective in calming redness, reducing irritation, and protecting against environmental stressors. It also improves microcirculation, which supports nutrient delivery to the skin and promotes a brighter, more even complexion.

Rose Petals

Rose petals, derived from various species of the Rosa genus, have long been used in herbal and dermatological preparations for their soothing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, and vitamin C, rose petals help protect the skin from oxidative stress while supporting a calm, even-toned complexion.

Their natural astringent qualities gently tighten and tone the skin, helping to minimize the appearance of pores and reduce surface redness. Rose petals also contain antibacterial and antimicrobial compounds, making them beneficial for irritated, acne-prone, or reactive skin.

In topical formulations, rose petals are commonly used to soothe inflammation, calm sensitive skin, and promote a soft, balanced texture. They are especially well-suited for dry, delicate, or inflamed skin conditions, helping to restore comfort and radiance.

Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root, derived from the Althaea officinalis plant, is a mucilage-rich herb valued for its exceptional hydrating, soothing, and anti-inflammatory properties. In skincare, it acts as a powerful emollient and humectant, drawing moisture into the skin while forming a protective, calming barrier over irritated or compromised areas.

Its high content of polysaccharides helps to relieve dryness, reduce itching, and calm inflammation—making it especially beneficial for sensitive, dry, or reactive skin conditions, such as eczema or dermatitis. Marshmallow root also supports skin repair by reducing redness and reinforcing the skin barrier.

Gentle and non-sensitizing, marshmallow root is ideal for formulations targeting dehydrated, irritated, or barrier-damaged skin, where it helps to restore softness, suppleness, and comfort.

Mullein

Mullein, derived from the leaves and flowers of Verbascum thapsus, is a traditional botanical known for its anti-inflammatory, soothing, and skin-calming properties. Rich in flavonoids, saponins, and mucilage, mullein helps to reduce skin irritation, support tissue repair, and promote overall skin resilience.

Topically, mullein is particularly effective in calming redness, itching, and sensitivity, making it suitable for delicate, inflamed, or environmentally stressed skin. Its natural emollient action helps soften dry, rough areas and maintain hydration in the skin barrier.

Mullein also exhibits antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, offering added protection against external aggressors while promoting a clear, calm complexion.

Comfrey

Comfrey is a traditional medicinal herb derived from the roots and leaves of Symphytum officinale. It is renowned for its potent wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, and skin-repairing properties.

Rich in allantoin, a compound that stimulates cell regeneration and promotes tissue repair, comfrey supports the restoration of damaged or compromised skin. It also contains mucilage and rosmarinic acid, which soothe irritation and reduce redness, making it valuable for sensitive or inflamed skin conditions.

Comfrey aids in strengthening the skin barrier, accelerating healing of minor abrasions, and calming inflammation, which makes it an ideal botanical for formulations targeting dry, irritated, or barrier-impaired skin.

Horsetail

Horsetail, derived from the stems of Equisetum arvense, is a mineral-rich herb known for its high silica content, a key nutrient that supports skin strength and elasticity. Silica promotes collagen synthesis, helping to improve skin texture and firmness.

In addition to silica, horsetail contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that protect the skin from environmental stressors and soothe irritation. Its astringent properties help tighten pores and refine skin appearance.

Horsetail is commonly used in formulations aimed at skin rejuvenation, barrier repair, and anti-aging, making it suitable for dry, sensitive, or mature skin types seeking improved resilience and a smoother complexion.

Licorice Root

Licorice root, derived from the Glycyrrhiza glabra plant, is prized for its potent anti-inflammatory, skin-brightening, and soothing properties. It contains glabridin, a compound known to inhibit melanin production, helping to reduce hyperpigmentation and even skin tone.

Licorice root also has strong antioxidant effects, protecting skin cells from oxidative stress, while its anti-inflammatory action calms redness and irritation. It supports the repair of the skin barrier and promotes a healthier, more radiant complexion.

Well-suited for sensitive and uneven skin types, licorice root is commonly included in formulations targeting discoloration, redness, and inflammation.

Green Tea

Green Tea, derived from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, is a powerful botanical renowned for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-protective properties. Rich in polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), it neutralizes free radicals that contribute to premature skin aging and environmental damage.

Green tea helps reduce redness and irritation by calming inflammatory responses and supports skin barrier function. It also exhibits antimicrobial activity, assisting in the prevention of acne and other skin infections.

Ideal for all skin types, green tea is frequently used in skincare to promote a clearer, calmer, and more youthful complexion.

Elderflower

Elderflower, harvested from the blossoms of Sambucus nigra, is valued in skincare for its gentle anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and astringent properties. Rich in flavonoids and phenolic acids, elderflower helps soothe irritated skin while protecting against oxidative damage caused by environmental stressors.

Its natural astringent effects aid in toning and refining the skin’s texture, reducing excess oil and minimizing the appearance of pores. Elderflower also supports skin hydration and helps maintain a balanced, healthy complexion.

Well-suited for sensitive and combination skin types, elderflower is commonly incorporated into formulations targeting calming, balancing, and revitalizing the skin.

Carrot Seed Oil

Carrot seed oil is derived from the seeds of the wild carrot plant (Daucus carota) through cold pressing, preserving its potent skin-beneficial compounds. This oil is rich in beta-carotene (provitamin A), antioxidants, and essential fatty acids, which work together to support skin regeneration and repair.

Known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, carrot seed oil helps soothe irritated skin and protect against environmental damage. Its antioxidant content aids in neutralizing free radicals, promoting a more youthful and radiant complexion.

Carrot seed oil also supports skin tone improvement and hydration, making it an excellent choice for mature, dry, or damaged skin in need of nourishment and revitalization.

Palmarosa Oil

Palmarosa oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of Cymbopogon martinii, a tropical grass known for its skin-balancing properties. It has a fresh, sweet, and floral aroma with subtle citrusy undertones that uplift the senses while calming the mind.

Rich in geraniol and linalool, palmarosa oil supports the skin’s natural hydration by regulating sebum production and enhancing moisture retention. It possesses antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects that help soothe irritated or acne-prone skin while promoting skin regeneration. Palmarosa oil is commonly used to improve skin elasticity and tone, making it beneficial for sensitive, dry, or aging skin.

Roman Chamomile

Roman chamomile oil is a steam-distilled extraction from the Chamaemelum nobile flower. It is renowned for its potent anti-inflammatory, calming, and skin-healing properties. It features a sweet, herbaceous, and slightly apple-like aroma with a soothing, comforting quality that relaxes both skin and spirit.

Containing active compounds like alpha-bisabolol and chamazulene, Roman chamomile effectively reduces redness, irritation, and inflammation. Ideal for sensitive or reactive skin, it supports skin barrier repair and helps soothe conditions such as eczema, rosacea, and dermatitis. Its gentle nature makes it suitable for all skin types, especially those prone to irritation.
